◆Perfect Infrastructure Facilities 　　Power Supply 　　The main power substation in the district has a capacity of 2,041,500KVA. The 500KV substation located at Mudu Town has been put in operation, and the capacity reachs 2xl,OOO,000KVA. 　　Gas Supply 　　The total volume is 45,600 tons/year, and the total length of pipeline is 253 kin; mainly liquefied gas, natural gas and synthetic gas; along with the completion of the project " for diverting gas from the west to the east in China " , it is actively developing high-quality and clean natural gas project, with an annual supply capacity of about 70 million cubic meters of natural gas. A supply channel of special gases has been in place, which is able to supply industrial gases at different purity levels. 　　Heat Supply 　　Centralized heat supply mode is adopted, the capacity of the Jiangyuan Thermoelectric Co.,Ltd. that is located inside Wuzhong Development Zone, is up to 250 tons/hour. 　　Running Water 　　The water is from Taihu Lake, better quality than that required by the State standard, and is up to tandard for drinking water, with a total capability reaching 503,000 tons/day. 　　Oil Products 　　The Suzhou Oil product Pipeline system of an annual transport capacity of 2.5 million tons has connected Shanghai Petrochemical to Wuzhong District. The terminal, Suzhou Tongqiao Oil Storage is located at Guoxiang Street, Wuzhong Development Zone, by the Xiegang River in north and Wusongjiang Avenue in south, occupying a total land area of 147 mu (about 10 ha) and accommodating five products including gas, diesel, etc. As a large-scaled modern logistic hub for oil products in Yangtze Ricer Delta featured with advanced technologies, complete functions and environment-protection, it consists of eight 5000m tanks, two 10000m tanks, four 20000m tanks, three 500m tanks, one 1000t port, one 5000t/year on-water gas station, etc. 　　Environmental Protection 　　The standard-meeting rate of the water quality at the centralized potable water source in the district reaches 100%, and that at the controlled cross section and at the surface water cross section in Taihu Drainage Area reach 100% respectively. Days of good environment and air quality reach 88% of the total, and the noise parameter reaches the standard in whole urban area. The general index for well-fare social environment is 96.50,8% higher than the same period in last year. In year 2008, 19 emission reduction projects were reported in the whole area, including 11 for COD emission reduction (2,951 tons were reduced in total) and 8 for SO (3,877 tons were reduced). Since then, the goal for annual emission reduction has been fulfilled, and the environment quality is kept stable in the whole area. 　　Telecom Service 　　The total optical cable length of the town area broadband network is 1,300,000 km, with a core exchange capacity of 4700G, and a town exit band breadth of up to 240G, and the internet broadband users amount to 80,000 households. 　　Postal Services 　　21 service network points set up, to offer a variety of postal services of EMS global express service, business correspondence, postal ad, postal savings, parcel mailing and receiving, T/T payment, philatelic service, agency insurance and telecom agent services, etc. for getting access to every corner of the whole globe; it has established 99 delivery sectional channels to deliver postal correspondences, newspaper and periodicals as well as logistics distribution, with every household in both town and rural areas being covered.
